The Country Representative Department of International Development Garith Aicke paid a farewell call on the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Wednesday. While appreciating the role of DFID in the promotion of social sector in Pakistan, the Prime Minister said the government was focusing on providing basic education and primary health care which is a pre-requisite for human development.

The government was also working for provision of providing clean drinking water to the people to avoid the spread of water borne diseases.

Prime Minister said the government was developing the social sector on priority basis so that country could leverage true human potential for the welfare of the people.

He said human development is essential for economic growth. A healthy and educated nation can contribute in national and international development added.
